Google sites Your Google site is your portfolio for the apps you create in App Inventor. You will create a Home page and one new Web page on your Google site for PaintPotV2. ( Extra credit if you create new Web pages for I Have a Dream and either Magic8Ball or Mole Mash)
DUE DATE: Friday, April 24. Your URL and reflection paper must be emailed to roselittle033@gmail.com by that date. How to create a Google site
Go to Google and key in sites.google and click on Google sites
Click on "create new site"
Click on "Browse gallery for more" and search for "app inventor"
Click on "Sample App Inventor Portfolio"
Click on "Gadget from template directory"
Click on Use Template
Give your site a personal name
Add some information about yourself and your interests
Create a New Web page on your Google site for PaintPotV2
1. Create an icon for PaintPotV2
Go to ai2.appinventor.mit.edu
Select PaintPotV2 in the Projects list
In App Inventor Designer view, click on Screen 1
In the Properties box, make sure the app name (PaintPot) is inserted in the App Name box.
Scroll down the Properties box to the Icon box
Select the PaintPot picture file you already uploaded
2. Create APK and AIA files for PaintPotV2
In App Inventor, select PaintPotV2 project, select "Build / App (save .apk to my computer)." Save the file on your "P" drive
Select "Projects / Export selected project (.aia) to my computer." Save the file on your "P" drive
3. Create a new page on your Google site and upload APK and AIA files for PaintPotV2
From your Google site Home page, click on the link to Site Map
Click on the New page icon.
Name your page PaintPotV2. Google Sites will generate a URL (web address) based on the name you choose
Choose Web Page as the type of page
Choose where to locate your page within your site (your choice)
Upload the app (.apk) and the source (.aia) files for PaintPotV2 at the bottom of your new Web page on your Google site
4. Create a QR code for PaintpotV2 and upload the screenshot
Create a scannable QR Code for PaintPotV2. First, grab the link (URL) to the apk file you just put on your Web page. (Right click on the download icon (arrow) of your apk file attachment and select Copy Link Location).
Add the QR Code to Google sites PaintPotV2 Web page. With PaintPotV2 Web page open, choose Insert | Image and choose the image file you just created of the QR code. This will add the picture of the QR code to the body of your new page
6. Add some information about PaintPotV2 to your project Web page
Copy the source code link from the .aia file (select the file, right click and select copy) and paste it into the main part of your page. Label the link as Source Code.
Insert image of screen shots of PaintPotV2 in designer and blocks views. Hint: (Copy and paste your screenshots into Paint and save the file as a png file.) Label each.
Write a short description of what PaintPotV2 does and how it works. State what you learned from creating the app.
Add borders and/or font formatting to your page to make it attractive
FOR EXTRA CREDIT: COMPLETE THE ABOVE STEPS FOR I HAVE A DREAM AND MAGIC8BALL OR MOLEMASH PROJECTS.
